Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones and Larry Adler inspired the first person in Britain to collect a degree for harmonica playing. Steve Lockwood, 33, who gained a 2:1 at Anglia Polytechnic, is now thinking of studying for a mouth organ masters.
Bachelor Mr Lockwood, who wrote a dissertation on the harmonica work of Stevie Wonder, said: "I love the harmonica because of its range. It can sound camp-fire, classically sad or very lively. And you can take it anywhere."
