Glasgow Caledonian University has reached a private settlement with former vice-principal John Phillips, fired for gross misconduct in July.
Professor Phillips was vice-principal under former principal Stan Mason, who was also fired for gross misconduct but was found by an industrial tribunal to have been unfairly dismissed. The settlement means that Professor Phillips will not go ahead with a tribunal application. Public funds have not been used to meet the settlement costs.
