The Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) will be officially launched in Luxembourg at a conference on 29 January.
The event will be hosted by Luxinnovation GIE, the national contact point for FP6, under the patronage of Ms Erna Hennicot-Schpges, Luxembourg's Minister of Culture, Higher Education and Research.
The conference will introduce the objectives of FP6 and inform the participants about opportunities for collaboration in the programme. Keynote speakers from the European Commission will give presentations on the actions for European co-financing and the available instruments for participation.
Workshops will look at specific topics within FP6, such as information society technologies, aeronautics and space, nanotechnologies and materials, biotechnology, food safety, sustainable development, and global change and ecosystems.
The event is intended for researchers and managers from academia, industry, small and medium sized companies and associations.
