Gay students' Pope vote

A ballot on whether to condemn Pope Benedict XVI for his views on homosexuality may be held at a National Union of Students conference this weekend.

The union's Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual conference in Edinburgh will also elect two national officers and debate whether universities should be asked to set up hardship funds for gay students who receive no financial support from their parents.
