Two British researchers are among the winners of the Louis Jeantet Prize for Medicine. Robin Lovell-Badge of the Medical Research Council's National Institute for Medical Research and Peter Goodfellow, Balfour Professor of Genetics at Cambridge, identified in 1990 the gene responsible for embryos becoming male. Most of the Pounds 300,000 prize will be used to fund future research.
