An international conference on genomics, entitled 'Genomics Momentum 2004 - genomics for our world', will take place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, from 30 August to 1 September.
Its purpose is to allow all stakeholders to assess and discuss their aims and expectations for genomics science and technology. Key questions for discussion will include:
- is current research oriented to the main priorities;
- are we ready to understand the full potential of genomics based knowledge and technology in these areas;
- what can and should be done to ensure that these aims and expectations are taken on board?
The conference is designed for all those who feel they have a stake in genomics, from user groups and developers to policy makers and scientists.
