London's Queen Mary and Westfield College will set up online discussions and videoconferences for hundreds of schoolgirls aged 14 to 15, in an effort to encourage girls to take computing courses in higher education. Only 16 per cent of applicants for BSc courses in computing are female. The project is one of six to receive BT University Development Awards worth a total of Pounds 500,000.
