The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers, an umbrella body representing university presses, learned societies and other not-for-profit publishers, has called on the web search engine Google to cease unlicensed scanning of copyright material.
Google has agreed not to scan copyright material in a project to digitise books held by Oxford's Bodleian Library, but the association claims that Google is still scanning copyright material in the US.
