Seven out of ten graduates found work immediately after completing their studies in 1998, according to the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. Graduate unemployment fell from 13 per cent in 1992 to 5.7 per cent in 1998. Two-thirds of graduates who were employed worked in jobs for which a degree was required.
