Hain is new Welsh education minister

PETER Hain, 47, MP for Neath since 1991, and shadow employment minister since 1996, has been appointed undersecretary of state for Wales with responsibility for education and training in a portfolio that includes the Welsh assembly and Europe. Welsh Secretary Ron Davies said Mr Hain's immediate agenda included forming a new education and training forum combining the expertise of training and enterprise councils, business, colleges, trade unions and local government.
