Having assailed The THES for "unhelpful reporting" of the Quality Assurance Agency's latest scheme for checking standards, members of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals' standards and quality group are adamant that "significant steps" have been taken towards a QAA/ CVCP truce over the proposals.
They are reluctant, however, to give more than a sketchy explanation. Are they trying to keep the good news from our readers, or just from the half of the group's members who failed to show up at the meeting where these significant steps were taken?
