HEFCE has divided Pounds 15.6 million between 69 colleges of higher education and new universities to encourage research development. This money, formerly included in the overall research grant as DevR, is now part of non-formula funding and emphasises collaboration. Indicative allocations of this cash give the largest grant to De Montfort University, which receives more than Pounds 1 million.
