Highland fling

The Scottish Office may pour cold water on the prospect of a new University of the Highlands being set up, but are there signs that existing institutions are taking the scheme a little more seriously?

Edinburgh University's annual report reveals that as part of its Scottish studies initiative, it is currently undertaking research into the "away from the cities" phenomenon which sees people moving to the Highlands.
