Oxford University is setting up a professorship in Buddhist studies after a major endowment from Toyko-based organisation Bukkyo Dendo Kyokai. Martin Goodman of the board of Oriental studies said: "The post will enable teaching and research at the highest academic level of the texts and languages in which the Buddhist teaching has been communicated."
