Cambridge University chemists are anticipating halcyon days following the appointment of their head of department, David King, as the government's chief scientific adviser.
In Chem@Cam, the departmental magazine, a cartoon pictures Tony Blair telling him: "I need a little more convincing, Professor King, that giving all the money to chemistry is in the national interest."
