Rogers Makanjuola, vice-chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife town, Nigeria, was shot when his car was caught up in protests over the relocation of local government headquarters. Professor Makanjuola is said to be responding to treatment for bullet wounds.
