Guinea pigs, fruit flies and evening primroses are among the classic laboratory organisms honoured for their contribution to science in a new book by Sussex University science historian Jim Endersby.
His book, A Guinea Pig's History of Biology , has won the £10,000 Jerwood Award for non-fiction in progress and is published this week.
