The records of 3,000 schools are to be opened in a project to restore and catalogue an important collection at the Institute of Education. The IoE has won £41,500 from the Heritage Lottery Fund to revive its collection of histories of individual schools dating back over 150 years. The project will commence this month, and will include repackaging and relabelling the records for use by educationists, historians and the wider public, including those researching personal or family histories.
