Brussels, 25 Apr 2003
An international conference on the 'abatement of groundwater contamination in urban areas' will take place on 25 and 26 June in Stuttgart, Germany.
The main aim of the event is to present the results of the INCORE project. Funded under the energy, environment and sustainable development (EESD) section of the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5), the project has developed an integrated approach for investigation, assessment and revitalisation of groundwater pollution in industrialised areas.
The conference will also hear the results of other projects funded under FP5 that are related to the subject of soil and groundwater contamination in Europe.
It is hoped that the conference will help scientists, service providers and administrators at all levels to transform their findings into practical solutions for groundwater contamination.
