Treatment of a painful joint condition may improve thanks to a project at Keele University. Researchers have won £788,000 in funding for a five-year study of osteoarthritis, a condition that affects millions of older people in the UK. The research project will involve about 2,000 local patients and aims to build up a picture of the long-term "natural history" of joint pain and osteoarthritis, as well as patients' experiences in general practice.
