Research carried out at Kingston University found that e-learning widens the diversity of students applying for university.
Kingston's Virtual Learning Environment, produced by software supplier Blackboard, has been shown to boost the number of students from disadvantaged backgrounds as well as improving undergraduates' chances of obtaining a good degree.
