More ethnic-Americans choose college
Record numbers of black and Latino high-school students have applied to the University of California despite the lifting of an affirmative action admissions policy. Applications from African-Americans have risen by 11.4 per cent, while applications from Latinos are up 14.5 per cent.
Euro-Canadian programme adds seven projects
Seven new projects will be launched under the European Community Canada Programme for Cooperation in Higher Education and Training. Since the programme started in 1996, 38 projects have been established.
