Indonesian rector assassinated
The rector of Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, has been assassinated by hit-men. Dayan Dawood, 55, was shot on Thursday just after leaving the university campus. The murder took place three days after Professor Dawood had suggested his university play a more prominent role in trying to resolve the conflict between the Indonesian army and pro-independence guerrillas.
Princeton rated top US university
Princeton University has topped the US News and World Report listing of the leading universities in the United States. Harvard and Yale were placed second and third respectively.
