Canadian universities access online journals
Sixty-four Canadian universities have agreed to spend C$47 million (£20 million) over three years on nationwide site licenses for online scholarly journals. The National Site Licensing Project will provide 650 journals and numerous citation indexes to its members.

Sydney appoints new chancellor
The University of Sydney senate will confirm the appointment of New South Wales supreme court judge Kim Santow as chancellor next month. He will replace controversial chancellor Dame Leonie Kramer, who stepped down in August.
