Blackstone launches prison initiative
Education minister Tessa Blackstone and prisons minister Paul Boateng launched a prison education partnership at Wormwood Scrubs today. They aim to ensure that prisoners get basic literacy and numeracy skills to help them get jobs on their release.

Science sets goals for government
Science and engineering organisations today produced a charter to guide the next government. The Charter for Science and Engineering calls for policies to attract top scientists and engineers, inform the public on science and engineering issues and create a climate that fosters innovation and technology transfer.
