Edinburgh University fired a senior academic this week after finding him guilty of sexually harassing students.
James Carrier, editor of the Journal of the Royal Anthropological Institute, was appointed reader in social anthropology at Edinburgh last October.
He was suspended earlier this year following complaints by three female students. The Edinburgh industrial tribunal that heard the charges recommended dismissal.
