A new sports performance centre to prepare aspiring athletes for future sporting success has been launched by Leeds Metropolitan University. Called the Carnegie Centre for Sports Performance and Wellbeing, it brings together world-class sports science and coaching personnel with physiotherapy services. It will provide scientific feedback and advice to help athletes increase performance and manage injury prevention. The manger of the centre, Louise Sutton, said that staff were looking forward to working with a number of elite athletes and would be delighted to help in their bid for success at London 2012.
