Paisley University has announced plans to build a new Pounds 6.8 million library and learning resource centre. Around half the costs will be met by the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council, and principal Richard Shaw said the university was well on the way to raising the remainder. Paisley itself will contribute Pounds 1.5 million, and there are pledges of just over Pounds 1 million from external sponsors, including the Robertson Trust of Glasgow.
