A design school has been created by the amalgamation of Loughborough University's departments of ergonomics and design and technology with its Ergonomics Safety Research Institute. From August 2011, the school will be housed in a state-of-the-art design centre. Tony Hodgson, the school's director, said its creation will "enable us to ensure that the university, and Britain, remain at the forefront of creative expertise".
