The European Investment Bank has lent €40 million (£22.3 million) to Finland to build, rehabilitate, extend, furnish and equip about 100 buildings for higher education and research throughout the country. The payment is the third tranche of a €300 million loan aimed at helping universities transform research into business opportunities, especially in the information technology and biotechnology sectors.
