At the same meeting, Ken Livingstone gave the big picture as usual, drawing the analogy between fees and the persecution of Galileo and the discovery of the wheel and of fire. He also told delegates why Neil Kinnock was the first of his family in 1,000 generations to go to college. "1,000 generations ago there were no universities, Britain was covered in an ice sheet and Kinnock's ancestors were scraping fur off mammoths."
