Brussels, 09 May 2003
A conference on research and development (R&D) management will take place from 7 to 9 July in Manchester, UK.
The conference will look at how current methods of R&D management are implemented and adapted according to the research environment. Those participating will be asked to consider the R&D management needs of sectors, not previously regarded as technology intensive, and whether such methods differ from the needs that have been traditionally addressed in corporate laboratories, such as project selection and portfolio management.
The conference will also discuss a number of issues such as the implications of R&D resources in an enlarged Europe and how management techniques may have to alter with the development of a European Research Area (ERA).
