We omitted the following people from our New Year's honours list published on January 7:

Professor Sir Basil Markesinis , QC, professor of common and civil law at University College London, for services to international legal relations.

OBE
Christopher Board , formerly London School of Economics lecturer in cartography, and chair of the UK Committee for Cartography, for services to cartography.

Peter Lyon , emeritus reader and senior research fellow at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, University of London, for services to the Commonwealth.

Gerald Manners , emeritus professor of geography at UCL and chair of the Association of Charitable Foundations, for charitable services.
