A Loughborough University project to develop computer based teaching material has been awarded Pounds 8,600 by the Esso Higher Education Support Scheme. Led by Steve Rothberg of the university's mechanical engineering department, the work will concentrate on mathematically based subjects in engineering, science and technology. The software will recognise common mathematical errors and set additional questions which address the individual student's difficulties.
