MP bill to equalise sixth-form funding

Labour MP David Chaytor (Bury North), chairman of the Commons all-party adult education group, will propose his school and colleges funding bill next Wednesday.

He is using the ten minute-rule bill to try to equalise funding between sixth forms funded by local authorities and colleges funded by the Further Education Funding Council. Sixth forms are better off than colleges although they teach the same A-level and vocational courses.
