MPs are to investigate access to education in the light of Sir Ron Dearing's report and government plans to change student funding and introduce tuition fees. The education and employment select committee is expected to call for written evidence and witnesses later following concern that reform may not break down barriers to greater access and may erect new ones. The committee's terms of reference will be decided after parliament reconvenes on Monday.
