The Industrial Technologies Directorate of the European Commission Research DG has published the first issue of European Industrial Research magazine. It provides a round up of news and views on innovative EU research.
In the first edition, the focus is on the key role of industrial research in facilitating change to a knowledge-based society in Europe. The magazine examines how it is possible to achieve longer lasting effects in industrial research and the need to establish priorities for the future of Europe.
This quarterly publication is being run in parallel with the Industrial Technologies website. These two communications tools reflect the key role being played by industrial research in the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) over the next four years. European Industrial Research will cover innovation in nanotechnologies and nanosciences; knowledge-based multifunctional materials; and new production processes and devices, as well as the integration of these three areas for improved security and quality of life.
