A medical trial that could transform the way paramedics treat stroke victims is under way. The study, led by Newcastle University, local hospitals and ambulance services, will enable paramedics to start drug treatment for stroke patients before they reach hospital. This means they will receive the vital drugs that prevent brain damage as quickly as possible.
