Nottingham Trent University said this week it was "carefully considering" how to respond to complaints from the National Union of Journalists about the quality of its MA course in investigative journalism.
Only three full-time students are on the course after the university split its journalism programmes into four specialist categories.
Complaints about quality made by students two years ago have yet to be resolved by the university's complaints procedures.
