More than 75,000 intricate lace samples, considered to be of national and international importance, have been placed in a new archive in Nottingham, the lace capital of the UK. The collection was acquired by Nottingham Trent University through bequests from lace manufacturers and the British Lace Federation and features samples dating from the 1600s. Nottingham is renowned worldwide for its association with the design, manufacture and production of lace.
