NUS frets at Oxford's pay-quickly-or-go plans

The National Union of Students is concerned about reports that Oxford University plans a fast-track expulsion of students who do not pay the new Pounds 1,000 tuition fees promptly. The NUS said it hoped an MP would raise the matter in the House of Commons as a parliamentary question. "We had thought the Department for Education and Employment had asked institutions to show leniency," an NUS spokeswoman said.
