(Photograph) - Onwards and upwards: a week of celebrations to mark the London School of Economics's centenary were crowned on Wednesday with the news that the school's professor of international law, Rosalyn Higgins, has achieved one of the highest honours. Her appointment as the first woman judge to sit on the International Court of Justice in the Hague was confirmed by the United Nations on Wednesday.
