Brussels, 13 Mar 2006
A conference to discuss and present the results of the 'Opening Channels of Communication between the Associated Candidate Countries and the EU in Ecological Farming', known as CHANNEL, will take place in Budapest, Hungary, between 5 and 7 April.
The conference will be introduced by Dr László Sólyom, President of the Hungarian Republic, and will feature presentations from Hungarian experts, officials from the European Commission and noted academics from the EU and candidate countries.
The CHANNEL project has two aims: to assess and analyse which development stages candidate countries have achieved in organic agriculture, and opening communication channels on different levels for starting the harmonisation and equalisation process in organic agriculture. The conference will be of interest to those working in organic agriculture in both EU and candidate states.
