Oxbridge under fire for masters awards

Labour MPs have launched an attack over the way Oxford and Cambridge award masters degrees.

In a Commons' motion, 20 Labour MPs said Oxford and Cambridge's system of automatically granting an MA to BA graduates devalued the efforts of students from other universities who had to study further for their masters degrees.

They claimed the practice gave Oxbridge graduates an "advantage in the jobs market over graduates attaining a BA from other from other universities".
