Oxford University has published a booklet to dispel its arts-bias image and highlight its science success. In the introduction, vice-chancellor Sir Colin Lucas, says: "Oxford is sometimes unfairly and rather too easily portrayed only as the home of letters, the bastion of humanities." However, "The scientific torch burns equally brightly." The brochure, Research at Oxford, says that the university's latest spin-off company, Synaptica Limited, which will research brain diseases, will give Pounds 1 million to the university over two and half years.
