Pakistani marks independence with donation

A Glasgow Pakistani businessman has marked this week's 50th anniversary of the creation of Pakistan with a Pounds 250,000 scholarship to bring Pakistani students to Strathclyde University. Yaqub Ali's donation is designed to help students who could not otherwise afford to study in Britain. The students, the first of whom will come to Strathclyde next year, will specialise in engineering and business studies.
