Nice to know the government is fulfilling its pledge to spend extra money on education.
More than £56,000 - about 12 times the level of funding per student - has gone on renaming the Education and Skills Department. Design of the department's new "marque" cost £14,705, while the production and stock of stationery was £12,632. Another £5,300 went on 18 name plaques for five sites and £23,420 covered costs including branding guidelines and web development.
