The Government this week sought to sweep away misconceptions about the Private Finance Initiative in higher education. Treasury Financial Secretary Michael Jack told educational administrators that PFI is not only for schemes with a specific new income stream or for multi-million pound capital projects. He added that PFI does not mean relinquishing autonomy.
