Almost two-thirds of Welsh 16 and 17-year-olds in jobs have minimum level qualifications, according to the latest figures. The official Labour Force Survey shows that of the 34,000 16 and 17-year-olds in work last summer around 21,000 were qualified to National Vocational Qualification level 2, the equivalent of five GCSEs at grades A to C.
