A former Aberdeen University postgraduate has had his sentence deferred for a year after promising to end a defamatory campaign against the university. Last month the Court of Sessions in Edinburgh found Peter Dow guilty of contempt of court. A subsequent hearing was set to decide what penalty to impose, at which Mr Dow escaped a possible jail sentence after giving an unreserved apology for the campaign.
